It also has a top bar that can be easily adjusted for nighttime feeds without needing to search for zips in the dark.
Anna discovered the CoZee to be a safe, comfortable place to sleep for her baby. It was a pleasure to not move like other models, so she wasn't woken up at night while trying to soothe her baby to feed. She also enjoyed the fact that the side could be lowered so she didn't need to reach over her partner to pull the baby out for night time feeds.
The CoZee is available in oak and charcoal and is a beautiful addition to the bedroom. It's more an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs that we've tested, which can appear rather utilitarian. It's also relatively lightweight at just 11kg, and comes with a carrying case which allows you to take it with you on holiday or if you're moving your home. The only additional items you'll require are a waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. There are step-bystep instructions and pictures to guide you through the process as you open the box which makes it a one-person job if needed.
The Maxi-Cosi Lora
The Iora is an infant bassinet designed to help parents feel closer to their baby while they sleep. It adjusts upwards and downwards and moves through three slide positions to fit next to the bed of the parent, or in the corner of the room, so that baby is always close at hand. The mesh siding is breathable, allowing air to flow through and allows you to glance at your little one. You can also store additional pajamas and other items in the large storage basket under.
The Iora is a smaller bedside cot that can fold flat. It also comes with a travel bag so it can be carried anywhere. Our mom testers were able to move it from room to room, and believed that it was a suitable size for a bedside cot, not too big or small. The large storage basket is ideal to store extra bedding or nappies.
This is a great choice for parents who wish to sleep together, but don't wish to share their bed. Or if one of the partners has mobility issues such as arthritis or back pain. Our mom testers love the fact that they can easily access their child in the Iora, and it also has an optional reflux incline to help with gas.
Our mums love that it follows NICE guidelines. They recommend placing the infant in the Moses basket or crib on its own without toys, blankets, pillows etc. They also claim that the mattress is firm and comfortable for baby and is easy to find sheets for. It isn't as light as other smaller bedside cribs, though and if you're looking for something lighter and more portable, consider one of the other options in our list.
